Now living back in Australia after 28 eventful and magical years in London, Berklee-educated Carl Orr returns to the 606 for his first London show since his August 2023 606 farewell performance, which has been immortalised on his new Carl Orr "Live in London" album, his 11th to date. Carl made quite a name for himself performing and recording with jazz and fusion royalty including Billy Cobham, George Duke, Randy Brecker, Ernie Watts and Don Grusin. He also demonstrated his versatility in performing with the likes of rock star Sting and blues master Eric Bibb. Carl is bringing an All-Star band to the club for this special performance! With Ross Stanley keyboards, Laurence Cottle drums and Francesco Mendolia drums the night promises plenty of groove, virtuosity and fireworks along with Carl’s trademark intimate, whisper-quiet passages. While jazz-based, Carl’s own melodic and groove-based compositions are also influenced by funk, rock, blues, gospel, world music and bossa nova, resulting in a fascinating panorama of shifting musical landscapes. We are absolutely delighted to welcome Carl back to the 606.
