Ai Furusato Mad Monkfish Concert Series September 27, 2026 Berklee prodigy Ai Furusato joins vocalist Tomoko Furusato and bassist Greg Tan for intimate jazz and expressive improvisation. Ai Furusato Trio Personnel: Ai Furusato – Piano Tomoko Furusato – Vocals Greg Tan – Bass Bio: Ai Furusato Trio Ai Furusato is a 15-year-old pianist who entered Berklee College of Music at age 12 as its youngest-ever degree student, receiving the prestigious Presidential Scholarship (full tuition). After winning numerous classical piano competitions in Japan, she transitioned to jazz and has since performed at BLUE NOTE TOKYO and appeared on numerous television programs. Tomoko Furusato is a jazz vocalist and owner of a piano bar in Japan. Known for her silky voice and expressive performances, she is also Ai Furusato’s mother. Greg Tan is a bassist recognized for his lyrical musicality and unwavering sense of time. A recipient of the 2025 DownBeat Student Music Award for Original Composition (Small Ensemble), he is currently studying at Berklee College of Music alongside Ai. Together, the trio presents an intimate and dynamic performance that blends jazz tradition with fresh energy, expressive improvisation, and a close musical connection.
