About
Clay Wilkinson is a young alto saxophonist who plays a wide variety of jazz music, taking inspiration from John Coltrane, Lee, Konitz and Charles McPherson. Born in Vancouver, he grew up in Victoria studying the saxophone with Ryan Oliver, before moving to Montreal where he earned his bachelors in jazz performance at McGill University. While at McGill, he studied with world class educators such as Remi Bolduc, Donny Kennedy, Kevin Dean and Ira Coleman, and also had brief opportunities to work with several iconic figures of jazz music such as Louis Hayes, Charles McPherson and Billy Pierce. These influences have combined to give Clay his unique sound and improvisational style. Clay Wilkinson-alto sax Kate Wyatt-piano Adrian Vedady-double bass Jacob Wutzke-drums
