Als einer der einflussreichsten Schlagzeuger der neueren Generation hat er das nicht nur das melodiöse Schlagzeugspiel populär gemacht, sondern durch sein virtuoses Spiel und seine Leidenschaft die Technik des Schlagzeugspiels auf ein neues Niveau gehoben. Wir freuen uns ein einmaliges Konzert mit seinem brandheißen Trio mit zwei der aufstrebendsten Künstlern der Szene gemeinsam mit Ihnen erleben zu dürfen! Ari Hoenig ist ein US-amerikanischer Schlagzeuger, der für seine ungewöhnliche und intensive Herangehensweise an das Schlagzeugspiel bekannt ist. Er setzt sein Schlagzeug nicht nur als Tempomacher ein oder interpretiert es als Begleitinstrument, sondern hebt es als unverzichtbaren Teil der Performance hervor. Ari spielte mit Kenny Werner, Dave Kikoski, Joe Lovano, Gerry Mulligan, Pat Metheny , Dave Holland, Wynton Marsalis, Pat Martino, Joshua Redman, Wayne Krantz, Richard Bona, Chris Potter, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mike Stern, Gilad Hekselman und vielen mehr. Der britische Gitarrist Tom Ollendorff studierte am Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama und wurde 2015 mit dem Yamaha Parliamentary Jazz Scholarship ausgezeichnet. Seitdem tourte er international und arbeitete unter anderem mit Ari Hoenig, Aaron Parks, Ben Wendel, Bill McHenry und Tim Garland . Neben seinen eigenen Projekten unterrichtet er am Royal Welsh College und an der Royal Academy of Music. Conor Chaplin gehört zu den gefragten Bassisten der britischen Jazzszene. Er ist Mitglied von Laura Jurds Dinosaur und Mammal Hands und arbeitete unter anderem mit Kit Downes, Ben van Gelder, Billy Cobham und Natalie Williams . Mit Tom Ollendorff verbindet ihn eine langjährige musikalische Zusammenarbeit. Ari Hoenig is a name familiar to anyone engaged with contemporary jazz. As one of the most influential drummers of his generation, he has not only popularized melodic drumming but also elevated the art of drumming to new technical heights through his virtuosity and passion. We are thrilled to present a unique concert featuring his red-hot trio, alongside two of the most exciting rising stars in the jazz scene! Ari Hoenig is a jazz composer, drummer, and educator known for his distinctive and intense approach to drumming, emphasizing complex rhythms in direct harmony with his bandmates. He is particularly recognized for redefining the drummer’s role—not just as a timekeeper or accompanist, but as an essential, melodic voice within the performance. Ari has played with an array of jazz greats, including Kenny Werner, Dave Kikoski, Joe Lovano, Gerry Mulligan, Pat Metheny, Dave Holland, Wynton Marsalis, Pat Martino, Joshua Redman, Wayne Krantz, Richard Bona, Chris Potter, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mike Stern, Gilad Hekselman, and many more.
