About
Doors open: 5:00 PM Show: 6:30 PM Spend a summer evening with multi-instrumentalist Roger Glenn as his Latin Jazz Ensemble brings together the vibrant rhythms and musical traditions of the Americas. A master of vibraphone, flute, and saxophone, Glenn has performed and recorded alongside some of the most influential figures in jazz and Latin music. He played flute with Cal Tjader, vibes with Herbie Mann, and both flute and vibes with Dizzy Gillespie, and contributed flute and percussion to Tjader’s Grammy Award-winning album La Onda Va Bien. His extensive recording credits also include Donald Byrd’s landmark Black Byrd and Mongo Santamaria’s Mongo ’70. For this performance, Glenn is joined by acclaimed Brazilian composer and pianist Marcos Silva, bassist Robb Fisher, drummer Kelly Zaban Fasman, and percussionist Michaelle Goerlitz, who is featured in the forthcoming documentary Renegade Queens. Together, the five-piece ensemble creates a richly layered sound shaped by Latin jazz traditions, rhythmic interplay, and modern jazz improvisation. The program highlights original compositions from Glenn’s recent release My Latin Heart (2025), alongside Afro-Cuban grooves, Brazilian classics and Silva originals, Argentinian tango, and beloved jazz standards. Moving between vibraphone, flute, and saxophone, Glenn leads the ensemble through music rich in melody, swing, and spontaneous musical conversation. A vibrant evening of Latin jazz celebrating rhythm, connection, and the expressive spirit of the Americas.
