John Scofield: “Electrospective” **SOLD OUT**

The Hamilton Live in Washington, Downtown.

About

Legendary guitarist John Scofield’s clawing electric guitar sound is immediately recognizable, and he’s given to spiking an extended funk jam with wet, rock-ish riffs — but he swings with the baddest of them. He got his first big break with the unenviable task of replacing Pat Metheny in Gary Burton’s quartet in the late 70s and joined Miles Davis shortly thereafter for three of the Prince of Darkness’ 80s albums. He’s since led a remarkable career flitting in between more traditional bop, groove, funk, electric bands and all other kinds of names. Here he leads his Electrospective project, which focuses more on those parts of his catalog best plied to extended funk jams. This show is SOLD OUT
