About

In 2026, the Budapest Jazz Orchestra presents a new programme featuring Dániel Hofecker’s latest compositions, selections from Dániel Mester’s album Storytelling Night and Miklós Birta’s On The Road, as well as works by some of the greatest figures in international big band jazz. The orchestra has already performed this programme at several venues throughout the year, enjoying tremendous success. The ensemble received several prestigious accolades in 2025. In August, it earned a prominent position in the Rising Star Large Ensemble of the Year category of DownBeat magazine’s Annual Critics Poll, voted on by 251 critics from around the world. DownBeat is widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential and authoritative jazz publications. Later, in the autumn of 2025, the orchestra was also honoured with the Pest County Prima Award.
