Logan Chan

El Chapultepec Piano Lounge in Denver, LoDo.

About

Logan Chan is a Denver keyboardist and songwriter who explores indie-pop soundscapes with jazz influences. For the El Chapultepec Lounge, Logan brings a romantic sensibility to nostalgic standards and a cocktail piano touch to newer pop songs. His piano playing and vocals are for relaxing and enjoying the finer things in life. Take a break from hypermodernity and settle into the velvet tones of Logan's piano. For lovers, but not only. For conversationalists, for those who enjoy some andante legato tunes to go with late night murmurs, laughter, and the clink of wine glasses. For the world weary, the optimists, the wanderers, and the philosophical types. Enjoy the refined elegance of ballads and old show tunes, or just let Logan Chan's mellow mood music enhance the background of your evening in the old downtown of the Queen City of the Plains. Logan plays keyboards and synthesizers with different ensembles across Denver, including co-leading the indie pop group 2-Bit Boyz and being a member of the Afrobeat-inspired Beasts of No Nation band. He has performed at the Juneteenth Music Festival, Dazzle, Underground Music Showcase, Levitt Pavilion, FoCoMX, Spangalang Brewery, and live on-air at KUVO. He grew up in Superior, CO learning classical piano but slacked on practicing as a teenager. Reinspired by jazz and bossa nova musicians such as Erroll Garner, Duke Ellington, and Antonio Carlos Jobim, he started practicing again on a $100 piano that he brought back to his college apartment. After playing in jazz ensembles and accompanying soloists in bars and restaurants for a few years, he released his debut EP Crow in the City in 2021, which was recorded with Denver musicians BK Kahn, Mickey Lenny, and Nicolas Killeen. He followed up that release with singles including Boba Boy and Fallin' in Love, and with more releases under the 2-Bit Boyz pop project, which launched in 2024. Logan's music melds positivity and everyday beauty into sweet soundscapes perfect for chilling in community. He draws inspiration from Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood in addition to his experience as a Chinese-American creative in Colorado.
