Earthwise welcomes Carmen Staaf and Akira Tana

Carmen Staaf piano Akira Tana drums -- this is a first-time collaboration for these two. Akira, a KCSM air talent, is from Palo Alto; Carmen, from New York by way of Seattle, has been a frequent Peninsula presence thru her work with Stanford Jazz Workshop and Earthwise shows in bands led by Allison Miller, Jenny Scheinman and Todd Sickafoose, plus shows as leader or co-leader. . Carmen also appears at Palo Alto Art Center the night before (Saturday August 1) with bassist Jorge Roeder.
