Marissa K is an Edmonton-based singer-songwriter known for her imaginative, theatrical style. Inspired by her background in dance and theatre, she focuses on storytelling to transport listeners into a vibrant, unique world. Her music, which she began writing in high school, draws on the nostalgic piano-pop of artists like Vanessa Carlton and Sara Bareilles, with a distinctive flair all her own. Marissa has been an active part of the Edmonton music scene since 2012. She released her debut EP, Postcards, in 2017 and recently followed up with the full-length concept album, Train to Lviv, in 2025. This deeply personal project blends her signature piano-driven pop with traditional Ukrainian folk music, exploring her dual identity as a Canadian and a Ukrainian.
