SUGARFUNGUS is the result of an unlikely combination of three jazz school graduates and two PhD scientists. The Vancouver-based collective can best be described as HighClouds blog puts it: “Dancey dream pop for the haunted and heartbroken.” For a band inspired by science, nature, and art, the idea of stitching pieces of different organisms together to evolve into something infinitely funkier, more brilliantly alive is an apt metaphor.
