$30 Seated & $20 Bar/Standing 7:30pm Show Get Tickets All-star Twin Cities musicians Joey Van Phillips, Kavyesh Kaviraj, Chris Thomson, and Chris Bates return to Berlin to perform the music of jazz composer and pianist Thelonious Monk. Born in 1917, Monk built his signature improvisatory style on playful rhythms and clashing chords. He performed with Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane and is a star of the American jazz canon. Joey Van Phillips is a drummer, percussionist, father, husband, actuary, television enthusiast, little-league coach, and chicken wing expert. A third-generation drummer and versatile musician, Joey has written for, recorded with, and performed with Dessa, Aby Wolf, Jonatha Brooke, and the Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra.
