His playing alone makes him one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Additionally, there are the groups he established, the genres he pioneered, and the young musicians he mentored through his bands. While his influence on trumpet players has been widely acknowledged, his impact on other instruments can sometimes go unnoticed. So for this concert, we will be leaving out the most obvious instrument, the trumpet, and showcasing Miles’ influence across other instruments.
