Internationally acclaimed bassist and composer Vincent Tsung-Yu Hsu brings his Soy La Ley Afro-Cuban Jazz Band to Snug Harbor for “Spirits From Both Sides,” an inspiring performance that blends jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and the musical traditions of Taiwan. Joined by acclaimed musicians from Taiwan and New Orleans, Hsu creates a vibrant sound that bridges cultures while celebrating the shared spirit of music around the world. A graduate of New York University and protégé of jazz greats Victor Venegas, Andy González, and Cecil McBee, Hsu has performed at renowned festivals and venues across the globe. The evening will feature music from his upcoming album Spirits From Both Sides , new works inspired by his travels in West Africa, and the U.S. premiere of his suite Danza Para Miró a captivating celebration of culture, rhythm, and artistic connection. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet and focus of our world class intimate concerts, only the charcuterie, cocktails and soft drinks are available for table service inside the Music Room. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.
