Rooted in modern jazz with classical influence, the music centers on strong melodies, group interplay, and improvisation, moving fluidly from intimate, quieter moments to high-energy playing, with plenty of room for the trio to take things somewhere new each night. Also of note: North Star Jazz Workshops will host the Michael Ragonese Trio for an intimate clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
