The American Lindy Hop Championships \(ALHC\) is dedicated to Lindy Hop, the father of all swing dances. It provides two days of in-depth dance learning, world-class music and dance performances, music listening and lots of social dancing to do and/or watch on October 23 and October 24, 2026. The event will be held at Good Shepherd Faith Presbyterian Church, 152 W. 66th St., New York, NY 10023. A Weekend Pass gives you your choice of all classes, all dances and have the option to enter contests. Children under 12 are invited to attend with their parents free of charge. Middle school and high school teens are invited to attend 2 for 1 with a parent or guardian.  Payment terms are available upon request for both individuals and groups. The Weekend in a Glance Friday, October 23, 2026             5pm Registration opens followed by the first of a three-class solo Jazz dance workshop at 5:30pm. A competitors meeting is at 7pn. A beginner Swing dance class is at 7:30pm. The Ballroom opens for dancing from 8 – midnight. Danny Lipsitz and Brass Tacks pay live with Ronald Jones DJing band breaks. Solo Jazz, The Match Game \(Jack & Jill\) and Strictly Lindy Divisions contests will be held. Saturday, October 24, 2065                       9:30am Registration opens followed by dance classes from 10am to 5pm. We’ll have a Savoy Memories Brown-Bag-It for dinner and a talk with Sonny Allen and Barbara Billups, the last of their generation of Savoy Ballroom dancers from 5:30-7pm. BYOF \(Bring Your Own Food\) here will be a competitors’ meeting at 7pm. 7:30-8:00 is a Beginner Swing class. The Battle of the Bands follows until 11:30pm when awards are given out. . Teachers/Judges for 2026 include Chester A. Whitmore \(jazz\), Jovon Paulette Brockington \(Lindy, Swing\) and special guest Barbara Ann Billups \(1958 Harvest Moon Ball, 3rd place\) \(Lindy, jazz\), Sonny Allen \(winner 1958 Harvest Moon Ball and Elena Iannucci \(judge\). The American Lindy Hop Championships celebrates the rich heritage and exhilarating energy of Lindy Hop. Again, it is scheduled to take place October 23rd through the 24th.
