Craig Handy is one of the most accomplished saxophonists of his generation, a powerful and expressive player whose career spans jazz, soul, film, television and world music. Born in Oakland and shaped by both West Coast roots and East Coast fire, Handy has built an international reputation through his work as a bandleader, composer and sideman. Craig has performed and recorded with an extraordinary list of jazz greats including Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, Wynton Marsalis, Abdullah Ibrahim, Betty Carter, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Elvin Jones, Joe Henderson and the Mingus organizations.
