NO COVER 4:30pm Show Freshly appointed as the jazz ensembles director at Gustavus Adolphus College, trombonist Jackson Churchill makes his Minneapolis debut at Berlin. Joined by Twin Cities staples Chris Olson and Matt Peterson, Churchill will perform original compositions and standards that showcase both the sensitive and exciting aspects of the trio format. Band Members: Jackson Churchill - Trombone Chris Olson - Guitar Matt Peterson - Bass ⊹ Jackson Churchill gives thorough meaning to the term “working musician.” He currently serves as visiting instructor and jazz ensembles director at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. His performance credits include the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Christian McBride’s JAS Academy Big Band, and the Broadway tour of “The Wiz.” As a full-time high school band director living in the midwestern United States, he has won international jazz trombone competitions facilitated by the International Trombone Association, American Trombone Workshop, and Jazz Trombone Day.
