Big Freedia is a rapper, singer and performer, best known as the “Queen of Bounce.” She helped to popularize the New Orleans-born hip-hop subgenre, and has also made waves as an openly queer figure in the straight male-dominated Southern rap scene. Her vibrant and dynamic style is characterized by up-tempo beats, deep, heavy bass and elements of call and response.
