Over his career he has played andrecorded with the likes of Fred Hersch, Steve Coleman, Ravi Coltrane, JasonMoran, Sam Rivers, Tim Berne, Uri Caine and many others. In January 2026, he willrelease his 5 th record for the ECM label. As an educator, he hastaught at the Eastman School of Music, NYU, University of Nevada-Reno, HKB-Bernand currently is a visiting professor at the Accademia Nazionale del Jazz inSiena,Italy.
