Led by JUNO-nominated, Trinidadian-born saxophonist Jesse Ryan grandson of Calypso icon Mighty Bomber and a leading voice in Afro-Caribbean jazz—the project brings together a dynamic ensemble of musicians rooted in Calypso, Caribbean, and jazz traditions. The project features calypsonian Steve Clarke, aka Mr. Wonderful , a Toronto Calypso stalwart and vibrant storyteller; percussionist Derek Thorne , who has performed with Calypso Rose and Kobo Town and studied with Cuban percussion legend Changuito; and legendary Jamaican guitarist Maurice Gordon .
