He has collaborated with the likes of John Zorn, Charles Lloyd, Nels Cline, Chris Eldridge, and Fred Hersch among others. The New Yorker praises Lage for being in the “highest category of improvising musicians.” Lage is known for his constant search through the endless forms of American music via his intense and detailed technique, his spontaneity, and courage to explore the unknown. For this performance Lage is joined by steadfast bassist Jorge Roeder , dynamic drummer Kenny Wollesen , and vaunted keyboardist John Medeski . His latest album with these three musicians is Scenes From Above (2026 Blue Note Records) is a brilliant exploration of music and sound in America today by four stunning musicians.
