Cuban artists Elio Rojas and Beny Luis reunite to revive El Cuartel, a musical project first imagined during their early years in Cuba. Piano & Trova is an intimate journey through the Cuban songbook, combining traditional trova, Cuban filin and timeless music associated with Buena Vista Social Club, Beny Moré, Ernesto Lecuona, Pérez Prado, Celia Cruz and Pablo Milanés. With original arrangements influenced by jazz, classical music, pop and flamenco, Elio and Beny bring a fresh perspective to the music of their homeland, accompanied by Frank Portuondo and Ernesto Marichales, outstanding musicians from London’s Latin jazz scene.
