Sara Lilu vocals · Alesander Peña guitar We first met Canarian vocalist Sara Lilu and Cantabrian guitarist Alesander Peña when they were students at the Conservatori del Liceu, where they met in their first year – both scholarship recipients of the Ferrer Music Foundation – and soon began playing together as a duo. In 2024, they released their first album together, My Blue Heaven , and now, having established themselves as two key figures in Barcelona’s young music scene, they are preparing their second recording. An intense, beautiful duo, with arrangements that are as sophisticated as they are natural to listen to, Lilu and Peña are two names worth keeping a close eye on. We have previously welcomed them to the festival as members of other ensembles (Lilu, for example, was the vocalist in one of the first line-ups of the Liceu Jazz Grup led by Bill McHenry), but they now make their debut as co-leaders of this exquisite duo.
