Minja Mijuskovic Nonet consists of a jazz quintet and a string quartet. Imagine the fullness of sound when a quintet featuring two distinctive saxophonists meets the tenderness and beauty of strings. Minja Mijuskovic Nonet is the winner of the 2026 DownBeat Student Award for Small Jazz Ensemble/Combo. This concert is supported by the Amarte Fonds and hosted by Oene van Geel. The repertoire consists of original compositions and arrangements by Minja Mijuskovic, blending jazz and impressionism. The programme includes the suite Boya and its whimsical story, as well as new pieces written for the ensemble’s upcoming record.
