Born in New York City in 1967, he has been an active performer and recording artist since 1990, first gaining recognition through recordings with saxophonist <strong data-start="235" data-end="252">Lou Donaldson</strong> and the acclaimed organ trio of <strong data-start="285" data-end="320" data-is-only-node="">Larry Goldings and Bill Stewart</strong>, a group still touring today. That same year, he was featured at <strong data-start="386" data-end="400">Jim Hall’s</strong> JVC Jazz Festival concert at Town Hall.</p> <p data-start="442" data-end="711">Bernstein spent ten years performing with Lou Donaldson and later worked with <strong data-start="520" data-end="537">Joshua Redman</strong> (1995–97). Over the years he has collaborated with jazz icons including <strong data-start="610" data-end="684">Sonny Rollins, Diana Krall, Brad Mehldau, Bobby Hutcherson, Lee Konitz</strong>, and <strong data-start="690" data-end="710">Dr. Lonnie Smith</strong>.</p> <p data-start="713" data-end="1029" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">With a warm tone, deep swing, and refined melodic language, Bernstein has performed at major clubs and festivals worldwide and appears on more than <strong data-start="861" data-end="879">300 recordings</strong>, including <strong data-start="891" data-end="916">14 albums as a leader</strong>. His latest release, <em data-start="938" data-end="953">Better Angels</em>(Smoke Sessions), features <strong data-start="981" data-end="1028">Brad Mehldau, Vicente Archer, and Al Foster</strong>.</p> <p data-start="0" data-end="345"><strong data-start="0" data-end="18">Anthony Wilson</strong> is an acclaimed guitarist and composer known for a distinctive body of work that moves fluidly across jazz and beyond. The son of legendary trumpeter and bandleader <strong data-start="207" data-end="224">Gerald Wilson</strong>, he has built an internationally respected career shaped by deep musical lineage and an adventurous compositional voice.</p> <p data-start="347" data-end="799">Wilson first gained major recognition with his debut album <em data-start="406" data-end="422">Anthony Wilson</em> (1997), a nine-piece “little big band” project that earned a GRAMMY nomination. He followed with a series of celebrated recordings, including <em data-start="565" data-end="580">Power of Nine</em> (2006), named one of <em data-start="602" data-end="618">The New Yorker</em>’s top ten jazz albums of the year. His trio releases <em data-start="672" data-end="682">Our Gang</em>, <em data-start="684" data-end="694">Savivity</em>, and <em data-start="700" data-end="716">Jack of Hearts</em>further established him as a creative bandleader with a refined, soulful approach.</p> <p data-start="801" data-end="1127" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">A highly sought-after performer, Wilson has been a core member of <strong data-start="867" data-end="892">Diana Krall’s quartet</strong> since 2001, appearing on the GRAMMY-winning <em data-start="937" data-end="952">Live in Paris</em>.
