Diaz takes the stage at Parker Jazz Club for an intimate evening exploring the beauty, drama, and romance of French song. From the raw emotional force of Édith Piaf to the sweeping melodies of Michel Legrand, the program traces a musical tradition shaped by longing, wit, and emotional nuance. Diaz draws from classic chanson, French popular song and jazz, performing the repertoire in its original language alongside an ensemble of some of Austin’s finest musicians. Having lived for several years in the South of France, Diaz brings a personal connection to the language and repertoire, respecting the tradition while leaving room for her own interpretation.
