Samba Jazz from Sao Paulo Brazil Tickets Get Tickets The hypnotic energy of Dani & Debora Gurgel Quarteto comes from the deep musical connection between Dani Gurgel and Debora Gurgel. Dani’s syncopated scat singing blends with Debora’s pulsating piano, weaving Brazilian charm and jazz improvisation into a vibrant and original sound. The group — affectionately known as DDG4 in Japan — has released eight albums, earned various Music Pro Awards and Brazilian Golden Records in Japan, and toured globally. In 2024, they completed three U.S. tours, performing at SXSW, Berklee College of Music, California Jazz Conservatory, Stanford, and Brown University, alongside an educational tour in São Paulo inspired by their projects “Rodopio” and “DDG19 Big Band.” Their new album will premiere during their Japan tour in December 2025. For this show, Dani, Debora and bassist Sidiel Vieira will be joined by Bay Area based drummer Dillon Vado; and special guests Sandy Cressman on vocals and Natalie Cressman on trombone/vocals are DDG4’s “plus two”, celebrating their musical friendship of more than a decade.
