The vocal ensemble GLAS is a colorful Viennese treat that brings the cultural diversity of this cosmopolitan city to life. The singers all live in Vienna and bring with them their roots from Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Iran, and Austria—a diversity that is immediately reflected in their sound. The focus is on Eastern European polyphony. Melodically and rhythmically, the polyphonic songs of the Balkan region are among the most complex and impressive forms of expression in European vocal folklore.
