Russell Molina Quartet, Filipino Jazz Fusion

About

Russell Molina Quartet, Filipino Jazz Fusion The Russell Molina Quartet is a Filipino Jazz Fusion band, led by guitarist and bandleader Russell Molina. The group draws upon the repertoire of jazz musicians from the Philippines, as well as original material from Molina’s newly released debut EP Riptide. ECM-style jazz blends with Filipino folk melodies and genres to create a unique sound that very few bandleaders in Toronto have explored. The rise in popularity of Filipino jazz coupled with the group’s current explorations into the genre make any RMQ show hard to miss. Russell Molina (guitar), Jordan Pelunsky (bass), Dylan Matsuda (drums), Micah Weekes (keys).
