Musical Style: Jazz Rob Mullins-originally from Denver’s Jazz Scene, returns to Dazzle with his dynamic Neu Quartet. Focusing on Rob’s original material spanning four decades, the group will be presenting classic fusion hits from Rob’s Early Works as well as his successful radio hits still heard around the world. Brad Goode Brad Goode is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator known for his creative approach to improvisation and distinctive voice on trumpet, bass, and drums. He has recorded on dozens of jazz albums, including 18 as a leader, and learned jazz through an extensive apprenticeship that included touring and recording with artists such as Von Freeman, Red Rodney, Eddie Harris, Ira Sullivan, Curtis Fuller, Jack DeJohnette, and Rosemary Clooney. A central figure in Chicago’s jazz scene, he led his own groups for more than a decade, including a twelve-year residency at the Green Mill, and was recognized by the Chicago Tribune as a major catalyst in the revitalization of Chicago jazz during the 1980s. Today, he continues to perform internationally with his own ensembles and as a sideman, appearing with artists including Matt Dusk, Paa Kow, and Ernie Watts. As an educator, Goode combines decades of professional performance experience with a deep commitment to teaching, mentorship, and research. He is widely respected for his expertise in brass technique, jazz improvisation, and jazz pedagogy, and has presented lectures internationally on innovative approaches to music education. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he is also Musical Director of the Conference on World Affairs. In addition to teaching and mentoring students, he is a frequent guest soloist and clinician and works with XO Brass Instruments on the development of an artist-model trumpet.
