About
Musical Style: Latin Jazz Since January 2026, the first Wednesday of every month has been dedicated to a special music series celebrating two historic milestones: the 250th anniversary of American independence and the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood. Through live performances and engaging storytelling, the series explores the music that has shaped our communities, reflected our changing identities, and continues to inspire new generations across Colorado and the nation. The October edition celebrates Latin American Heritage Month with “Mistura Fina,” a project that highlights intercultural exchange by pairing jazz improvisation with global musical traditions. The name “Mistura Fina” translates to “fine mixture,” reflecting the project’s vibrant blend of African and Latin rhythms with a dynamic jazz approach. Bringing together musical traditions from across the Americas, the performance offers an energetic celebration of Latin jazz and the many cultures that have contributed to the musical landscape of the United States.
