About Barney McAll: Barney McAll stands as one of Australia’s most visionary and uncompromising musical voices – a GRAMMY-nominated, ARIA-winning pianist, composer, and producer whose work defies categorization. He has released 28 acclaimed solo albums, performed on over 100 recordings, and collaborated with Sia, Daniel Merriweather and jazz legends including Gary Bartz, Dewey Redman, Maceo Parker, Jimmy Cobb, Billy Harper and Roy Ayers. Yet McAll’s significance extends far beyond his technical mastery; he is equally revered as a mentor and author, challenging the commodification of creativity. Born in Melbourne, McAll’s musical DNA formed through early immersion in jazz and blues records at family gatherings.
