Whiteful Jazz Quartet
Budapest Jazz Club in Budapest, Ujlipotvaros.
About
The quartet was formed in the late 1990s with vocalist Tardy Zsófia, guitarist Csikós Attila, double bassist Oláh Péter, and drummer Bágyi Balázs. They performed together for nearly a decade across Hungary and in several major European cities. In 2001, they released a joint album titled “Future In The Past”. Over the past eleven years, Zsófia and Attila have built their jazz careers in the United States, in Portland, Oregon on the West Coast. They regularly perform in their own duo and quartet formations under the name “Zsofia Tardy’s Hunglish Project”, teach at their own music school, A2Z Music Studio, and have become active, respected, and in-demand figures in the Portland and Oregon jazz scene. Last year, an opportunity finally arose for a reunion: Balázs Bágyi visited the United States, and the quartet – now with three members based in America and one in Hungary – performed together again on stage in San Diego at The Jazz Lounge. The Budapest concert continues this story: the full original lineup returns to where it all began. Zsófia Tardy – vocal, Attila Csikós – guitar, Péter O
