About

A powerhouse performer blessed with a voice made of pure soul, Seattle-based singer, composer, and keyboardist Brittany Davis brings their deeply felt songs blending jazz, R&B, and hard-grooving funk. Raised in Kansas City, Davis developed into a commanding vocalist, pianist, producer, and songwriter whose work is rooted in vulnerability, social consciousness, and deep musical intuition. Her breakthrough debut album, Image Issues, earned widespread acclaim from NPR, KEXP, SPIN , and Good Morning America , establishing her as an artist capable of transforming personal struggle into cathartic, transcendent art. Davis has collaborated closely with Stone Gossard through the project Painted Shield and released music on his Loosegroove Records label, while also working with acclaimed Seattle musicians including Evan Flory-Barnes and D'Vonne Lewis. Her music draws comparisons to Nina Simone, Roberta Flack, and Rahsaan Roland Kirk for its emotional intensity and spiritual depth. Her latest album, Black Thunder , is a bold, largely improvised work of spiritual jazz recorded live over two days. Featuring hypnotic grooves, explosive improvisation, and deeply personal storytelling, the album showcases Davis at her most raw and visionary, confirming her status as a transformative force in modern music.
