Get ready for another amazing night of music featuring some of Vancouvers best at 2nd Floor Gastown. Friday July 31st we have none other than The Bad Pennies gracing our stage! The Bad Pennies formed in Vancouver, BC, in the fall of 2022, when Jeff Baker (guitar/vocals) and Mark Milner (bass) began jamming together in a rehearsal studio at Pandora’s Box. In early 2023, Jim Reid was recruited as the drummer for the band. In June 2023, the band entered the BC Blues Challenge to begin building an audience. After the live performance round of the competition, the Fraser Valley Blues Society invited The Bad Pennies to represent the society, and by extension the province, in the band category at the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, where they played a number of Beale Street clubs, including the venerable Rum Boogie Café. After their return from Memphis, the band recruited a fourth member. Hailing from Mexico City, Francisco Bonilla (guitar, vocals & percussion) plays electric and slide guitar.
