About
Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for the Golden Hour Heptet! Lauryn Gould – Reeds, Vocals Mark Gonzales – Trombone David Jellema – Cornet, Clarinet Jamey Cummins – Guitar Shane Dickens – Piano Ryan Gould – Double Bass Jason Baczynski – Drums The Golden Hour Heptet plays swing music inspired by the great jazz artists of the 1930's and 40's, such as Don Byas, Slam Stewart, Lester Young, Mary Lou Williams, Johnny Hodges, Billie Holiday, Teddy Wilson, et. al. With a mix of original arrangements and fresh interpretations of classic tunes, this ensemble has become a favorite with the swing dance community in Austin and nationally. While the Heptet can usually be found in dance halls and ballrooms, the intimate setting of Monks will bring the opportunity to dig into a broader well of repertoire. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! Doors at 7:15, Show at 7:30 PM.
