On the first day of September, the music of one of America’s greatest jazz legends, 17-time Grammy Award winner Tony Bennett, takes center stage. Frank Sinatra’s favourite singer collaborated with some of the finest artists of our time, including Lady Gaga and Andrea Bocelli. With this special programme, Gábriel pays tribute to his role model Tony Bennett, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday on August 3 this year, with a selection aimed especially at discerning jazz listeners. An interesting parallel between the two artists is that both have distinguished themselves not only as performers but also in the visual arts.
