Jazz show
Jack Irby Quartet
Mr. Henry's in Washington, Capitol Hill.

About
Not a stranger to the DC music scene, Irby has carved out his position as an in-demand section player supporting big bands from the bottom with such ensembles as Jazzmeia Horn and her Noble Force, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Orchestra, the Capitol Hill Jazz Orchestra, the Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, the Herm Hopkins SOUL BIG BAND, and the Fran Vielma Jazz Orchestra. Sharing the bandstand with great artists like Kurt Elling, Jazzmeia Horn, Bobby Watson, Vanessa Rubins, Don Braden, Herb Scott, and Paul Carr; Irby’s performances have brought him to the stages of the Kennedy Center, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, Blues Alley, Mr. Henry’s, HillFest, and countless other venues around the DMV. As a band leader, Irby puts the full spectrum of the baritone saxophone sound front and center. The night will feature compositions, some well known and some hidden gems, from legends of the art form, including Charles Mingus, Thad Jones, and Pepper Adams. Irby is incredibly excited to be returning to Mr. Henry’s to showcase this beautiful music with his outstanding quartet of DC musicians. The Jack Irby Quartet features: Connor Holdridge – Guitar Steve Arnold – Bass Keith Butler, Jr – Drums
