With Evans as your guide, let us delve into the songs, styles and singers that defined an artform. From the Birth of the Blues to Bebop, Dixieland to Bossa Nova, discover the sounds that shaped jazz, from its earliest roots to its modern masterpieces. Award-winning jazz vocalist Amelia Evans is one of Melbourne’s rising stars. With a love of storytelling via improvisation, Amelia is recognised for her breathtaking vocal versatility and ability to capture an audience with her authenticity and honesty. A finalist in the 2020 Wangaratta Festival of Jazz & Blues National Jazz Awards, Amelia has performed with the likes of Terri-Lyne Carrington, James Morrison, Ari Hoenig, Wycliffe Gordon and Linda May Han Oh. collaborated with pianist Bob Sedergreen on her debut album The First Song, and won a score of awards including the 2017 Generations In Jazz Vocal Scholarship.
