We are delighted to welcome pianist and bandleader David Mesquitic back to the stage with his acclaimed trio ( Seth Lewis - bass, Bobby Wiens - drums ). This trio is a vibrant ensemble that blends hard bop, blues, swing, and Latin influences. Expect to hear a captivating blend of original compositions, fresh arrangements, and classic jazz quintet repertoire from the last century. Award winning pianist David Mesquitic is a composer and educator committed to the intergenerational transfer of the knowledge, history, and traditions of jazz. Mesquitic currently teaches at Colorado State University (CSU) and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). Mesquitic holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Texas at Austin where he was awarded the 2022 Eleanor Alexander Stripling Award for Excellence in Jazz Studies. Mesquitic’s artistry has also been recognized as a receipt of the 2024 United States Air Force Band Diversity Fellowship.
