Looking to join a jazz band, meet other musicians and play more jazz? This new workshop at the Vortex is a relaxed, welcoming community for musicians who want to play, learn and develop together. We’ll rehearse jazz standards, work on improvisation and ensemble playing, and build towards forming regular groups. The aim is to create a supportive jazz community where musicians can meet each other, make music and, over time, have opportunities to perform together. The workshop is open to instrumentalists with some playing experience. You don’t need to be an experienced jazz player — just bring your instrument and a willingness to learn.
