Happy Hour Concert Series* featuring Alejandro Canales & Roberto Perez Alejandro Canales is a Texas-born saxophonist who grew up near Denver and has built a versatile international career in jazz and contemporary music. He has toured worldwide with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises, performing in production shows and backing artists across Motown, R&B, classical, and rock styles while doubling on flute and clarinet. Canales has performed with the Reno Jazz Orchestra, Soul Brass Band, the Treme Brass Band, and Trombone Shorty, and released his debut album, Bluish Hue , as a bandleader. An active performer and educator, he continues to appear with projects spanning jazz, Latin, funk, and modern improvisation. Roberto Perez is a Colombian pianist and composer whose music draws from Afro-Colombian roots and incorporates Latin, R&B, Swing, ECM, and Pop influences. After first visiting New Orleans for Jazz Fest in the 1990s, he fell in love with the city and stayed to study jazz at Loyola University on scholarship. He has performed and toured internationally, including time in Spain and Switzerland, and holds a Master of Arts from CUNY in New York City. Perez currently teaches piano at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music and has worked with the Jefferson Parish Education System for the past six years. The two join forces for a very special happy hour performance. Doors: 4 pm Show: 4:30 - 6 pm Restaurant is Open 5pm - 10pm for dinner after showtime Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro presents live weekly concerts. You can see these shows every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday in person or by streaming on the Snug Harbor Facebook page. This is a free performance with no ticketing. Seating is on a first come-first served basis. Tips for the band are encouraged and go 100% to the musicians.
