Martin Luther McCoy

About

Dave Council | Key Bass & Piano Brian Braziel | Drums Wilton Rabb | Guitar Martin Luther McCoy | Vocals Martin Luther McCoy brings his voice and guitar to Mr. Tipple’s on November 7th for a night of classic soul and selections from his new album, Welcome Back Love. A San Francisco native and former member of the SFJAZZ Collective, McCoy sings in a lineage that runs from Gil Scott-Heron’s conscience to Johnny Hartman’s warmth, with the melodic reach of Stevie Wonder. He was a highlight of the San Jose Summer Fest with his tribute to Ray Charles, and this set moves between the standards and the new material without losing the thread.
