Backyard Band is one of the most widely-known go-go bands in the DMV area. Led by front man and founder Anwan “Big G” Glover, the group has been together for over 30 years. They came on the scene in the early nineties, popularizing a new go-go style in which they reimagined popular hip-hop tracks with go-go beats. Their sound blends the grit and edge of rock and rap music with the smooth grooves of soul and funk. Here they perform a special 35th anniversary show.
