Ethan Ostrow’s project blends elements of funk, rock and folk with something completely new, featuring some of the Twin Cities’ most accomplished and versatile musicians. “Seriously funked-up...Ostrow's compositions are dynamic, passionate, and gorgeous” East Bay Express Soaring melodies, passionate solos, head-banging grooves, intimate and reflective ballads all define the music, which can be described as a blend between Snarky Puppy, Ghost Note, the Brian Blade Fellowship, and Ethan’s unique compositional voice. Ethan Ostrow is a Minneapolis-based pianist, composer, and singer. A recent transplant from NYC, Ethan has quickly established himself across genres in Minnesota, performing and recording with the Snapped Open Mic band, Ashley DuBose, Adam Bohanan, Omar Abdulkarim, Kathleen Johnson, Abinnet Berhanu, Dakota Andersen, Leslie Vincent, Toussaint Morrison, Thoughtcast, the Twin Cities Latin Jazz Orchestra, and more. Room3 is a jazz fusion wild card rooted in tradition yet driven by experimentation. Their sound is imaginative, melodic and rhythmically sharp, mixing elements of contemporary jazz, prog rock, funk and more. The collective operates out of Minneapolis most commonly as a five-piece, with Eli Awada on keyboards, Wormdove (aka Beck Anderson) on bass, RAWTWHYLAH (aka Colin Mitchell) on drums, Evan Espinoza Robles on percussion and Mike Green on guitar.
