In times of multiple global crises, a mindful approach to media content becomes an important form of self-care. The “Good News Radio Quartet” offers a deliberate counterpoint: it presents selected news stories that bring joy and inspire courage, optimism, and hope. For the duration of the performance, the audience is freed from the numbing shock of apocalyptic headlines and transported into a space of confidence. The music is freely improvised and responds directly to the texts, the audience, and, of course, to itself.
