Blending jazz with folk and cinematic influences, she creates an immersive and emotionally rich sound world. Moving beyond traditional jazz forms, her music unfolds through lyrical wordless melodies and layered harmonies, inviting listeners through introspective, melancholic and ultimately uplifting landscapes. Her music draws inspiration from artists such as Maria Schneider and John Taylor. Jazz Views (UK) “To Some Place New is a patient, assured debut from a composer who already knows what she wants to say — and an ensemble that doesn’t accompany the compositions so much as inhabit them.” Arne Schumacher JAZZTHETIK (DE) “The overall sound and the evocative solos convey an uplifting, positive spirit that endures even in the more stately, wistful, and romantic "narratives." An enchanting album that could - and should - open doors.” Blue in Green (UK) “As part of the project's efforts to transport itself and its listeners to some place new by the album's conclusion, we are afforded the opportunity to do so through an artist that honours reflection as much as the notion of persevering onwards.” Paris Move (FR) “Her music remains deeply personal, anchored by a melodic sensibility that gives even the album’s most complex passages an unusual emotional clarity. Milena Granci is not simply a promising jazz musician. She is a composer with the rare ability to create worlds.” [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Dr_gK7oyis&list=PLmq8R5Fttk7sbMIMV8z2UGRCQLfFQS6j2[/embed]
