Raúl Beltrán is a Spanish jazz upright bassist who, after a decade of living and nurturing his craft in some of the world’s major musical capitals (Paris, New York, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, and New Orleans) has now established himself in Vancouver, BC. Here he formed the Raúl Beltrán Soul Jazz Trio, diving into the hard-swinging, groove-driven world of Hard Bop and Soul Jazz. Blending blues, gospel, Latin rhythms, and swinging jazz, the trio brings a soulful, high-energy sound to classic tunes and unexpected gems alike.
