From the swagger of Sonny Rollins to the spirituality of John Coltrane, the tenor sax has been at the forefront of every major development in jazz history, whether playing laid-back swing, searching ballads, or burning modern improvisations. Expect a night of exploration as we indulge the sound and story of the tenor sax, and offer exciting modern takes on some favourite jazz classics. A Victorian College of the Arts graduate, Richard Pavlidis has released three acclaimed solo albums and earned international praise for his commanding sound and inventive spirit.
